How to stream on Twitch and Kick at the same time

Streaming on Twitch and Kick at the same time takes one Upstream stream with both added to it. Both connect by signing in, so you don't copy keys from either dashboard, and your computer sends one stream that Upstream copies to both.

The rules matter more than the setup here. Twitch allows simulcasting unless you signed an agreement that says otherwise. Kick Partners have to turn on Kick's multistreaming toggle, which lowers their payout while it is on.

  • Up to 10 platforms on one stream
  • Free plan works

Before you start

  • An Upstream account (the free plan is enough to test)
  • A Twitch account that can go live
  • A Kick account that can go live
  • Twitch: Twitch allows simulcasting unless you signed an agreement that says otherwise. The Twitch stream can't be worse than the others, and merged chat from other platforms can't appear on the Twitch broadcast.
  • Kick: Kick Partners have to turn on the multistreaming toggle on Kick, which lowers their payout while it is on. Check Kick's current terms for your account.

Step 1

Create a stream

In Upstream, press Create stream and pick where the video comes from: Multistream from OBS for OBS or any app with custom RTMP, Live Studio to go live from your browser, or Prerecorded and/or 24/7 for uploaded videos.

Create Stream: the first step asks what kind of stream you are making.

Step 2

Add Twitch as the main platform

On Select your primary platform, choose Twitch, then sign in with your Twitch account. You can paste the stream key from your Twitch dashboard instead.

The platform step. Saved destinations show above the tiles once you have some.

Step 3

Add Kick

On the Set up multistreaming step, press Add stream and pick the platform under Platform. You can add or change platforms later too, in Live Studio under Destinations.

Kick: pick Kick, then sign in with your Kick account. You can paste the stream key from your Kick dashboard instead.

Step 4

Send your video and start

Send the video in: from OBS or another app, paste the RTMP Server URL and Stream Key from Live Studio into it (the OBS guide shows where); from the browser, join Live Studio with your camera. Then press Start stream, and the stream goes out to Twitch and Kick together.

Platform keys vs your Upstream key

Twitch and Kick can each connect by signing in or with a pasted stream key. Either way, that connection lives in Upstream and tells Upstream where to send the stream.

Your streaming app needs a different key: the Upstream Stream Key, from Live Studio. If OBS has your Kick key in it, OBS streams to Kick alone and Upstream never sees the stream. For Kick-only settings, see Kick stream key and OBS settings.

Troubleshooting

OBS won't connect after I pasted my Kick key

OBS needs the Upstream Stream Key, not the Kick one. Put Upstream's server URL and key in OBS under Settings, Stream, and keep the Kick key in Upstream.

I'm a Kick Partner. Is signing in through Upstream enough?

No. Partners still have to turn on Kick's multistreaming toggle on Kick before simulcasting, whatever tool they use.

FAQ

Can I stream on Twitch and Kick at the same time?

Yes. Twitch allows it unless you signed an agreement that says otherwise, as long as the Twitch stream isn't worse and merged Kick chat stays off the Twitch video. Kick Partners must turn on Kick's multistreaming toggle.

Does multistreaming lower my Kick payout?

For Kick Partners, yes: Kick lowers Partner payout while the multistreaming toggle is on. Check Kick's current terms for your account.

Can I add YouTube to a Twitch and Kick stream?

Yes, with Add stream like Kick. Our guide on how to multistream to YouTube, Twitch and Kick covers all three.
