How to go live on TikTok on PC with Upstream

Being able to go LIVE in the TikTok app does not mean your account has a server URL and stream key for external streaming software. Check the LIVE tools in your account on a computer before setting up Upstream. TikTok decides which accounts get access. Upstream cannot provide a TikTok key or grant LIVE access.

Keep your stream key private. If your account shows a server URL and stream key, copy both. If TikTok gives you a new key, update the destination in Upstream before starting.

Check your recorded format

TikTok can stop or restrict a LIVE that uses recorded content. Confirm that your format is allowed before planning an always-on channel, and make the nature of recorded programming clear to viewers. Upstream's ability to run a playlist 24/7 does not guarantee that TikTok will keep it live.

Plan each destination separately

Add YouTube, Instagram or another destination to the same vertical stream. Upstream sends one encode to up to 10 destinations. Each receives the same orientation and must accept the chosen settings. Upstream stops Instagram multistreams at 3 hours 55 minutes and Facebook multistreams at 7 hours 55 minutes. Those stops apply to those destinations.
