Schedule a stream for freeHow to make a stream starting soon screen
- 1
Pick the screen
Starting soon, be right back or stream ending fills in the text for you. Change it to anything you like.
- 2
Set a countdown and a style
Choose a countdown from 1 to 15 minutes, or none for a loop. Pick a satin color, one of our looping scenes or your own picture or video.
- 3
Download and add it to OBS
Save the MP4 or the PNG and add it to a scene as a Media Source or an Image Source.
Choose the screen for your show
Starting soon
Set a countdown for the time you need before going live. The maker offers 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 and 15 minutes. Use the second line for the stream topic or start time.
Be right back
Choose No countdown for a screen that repeats through a break. Use a countdown only when you know when you will return.
Stream ending
Thank viewers and add the next stream time. End the broadcast yourself when you are ready; the ending screen does not stop it.
Add the screen to your streaming app
OBS Studio
Add the MP4 as a Media Source. For a countdown, turn Loop off and Restart playback when source becomes active on. For a BRB screen, turn Loop on. Add a PNG as an Image Source.
Streamlabs Desktop
Add a Media Source and select your MP4. Use Loop for BRB, or turn it off and enable Restart playback when source becomes active for a countdown. Keep the screens in separate scenes.
Meld
Add a Media source layer for the MP4. In the Inspector, choose Play when the layer becomes visible. Freeze last frame keeps the ending visible. Use an Image layer for a PNG.
Fix common screen and countdown problems
The countdown starts again
The editor preview repeats while you design. The exported MP4 counts down once. If it repeats in OBS, turn Loop off on its Media Source.
The timer is frozen
A PNG is a still picture. Download an MP4 for a working countdown, or choose No countdown before saving a reusable PNG.
The screen has no music
The MP4 is silent, including any video you use as a background. Add music as a separate source in your streaming app.
The text or background looks wrong
Shorten a crowded title and keep important background details near the center. The picture fills the frame, so its edges can be cropped. Check the exported file at a smaller size.
Put the countdown before a scheduled show
Add the countdown MP4 before your recorded show in an Upstream playlist. For an 18:00 show with a 5 minute countdown, schedule the broadcast for 17:55. Upstream starts it from the cloud with your computer off. Start with 24 free streaming hours a month.
