Make a music video or an audio loop
MP3 to MP4 with a picture
Add your song and cover art to make a video for YouTube. YouTube does not accept an MP3 as a video upload; renaming the file is not enough.
Replace a video's soundtrack
Add footage and the song you want to hear. The original video sound is left out. A short background repeats for the length of your audio.
Make a 1 hour version
Add a song, choose 1 hour in Length, and use a still picture or Audio only. Several songs repeat as one playlist, in the order shown.
Before you export
Check the picture
Fit keeps the whole image visible; Fill crops it to cover the frame. Use 16:9 for landscape, 9:16 for portrait or 1:1 for a square video.
Choose the right length
Still pictures with fixed text and audio only exports can run up to 3 hours. Moving backgrounds or changing song titles need frame rendering, limited to 15 minutes.
Listen to the join
A loop repeats the silence or fade already in your song. Check where the ending meets the beginning. This tool does not remove gaps or add crossfades.
Set the title
In Text, write a fixed title or choose Song file name to show the current track. Check the file names before exporting a playlist.
Other ways to add music
On a video already on YouTube
Open the video in YouTube Studio, choose Editor, then Audio. YouTube's audio editor lets you place music from its Audio Library in the video.
For speech with background music
Use a timeline editor when you need to keep dialogue, lower the music or line up a sound with a cut. iMovie can add audio files on iPhone and iPad.
Keep the playlist live 24/7
Upstream streams your audio and video playlists from the cloud, with your computer off. The playlists loop separately, so a short background can accompany a growing music library. Start with 24 free streaming hours a month, or read how to run a YouTube station.
