Audio Setup & Recording Tips
Microphone Setup
- • Position microphone 6-12 inches from your mouth
- • Speak directly into the microphone, not from the side
- • Use a pop filter to reduce plosive sounds (P, B, T, K)
- • Keep microphone away from fans, air conditioning, and noise sources
Environment & Acoustics
- • Record in a quiet room with soft furnishings
- • Avoid hard surfaces that cause echo (walls, windows)
- • Close windows and doors to minimize outside noise
- • Consider acoustic treatment or record in a closet with clothes
Microphone Permission Required
If you're not seeing a microphone permission prompt, try these steps:
Chrome: Permission Reset
- Look for microphone icon in address bar (far left)
- Click it → "Always allow on this site"
- If no icon: Click lock → Microphone → Allow
- Refresh page and try again
Browser Settings
- Go to browser Settings → Privacy → Site permissions
- Find "Microphone" and this website
- Change from "Block" to "Allow"
- Refresh and try again
Note: Microphone access requires HTTPS or localhost. Make sure you're not on an insecure HTTP connection.
